Cake smash sessions are some of my favorites between fun setups, balloons, just being creative, and seeing baby’s reaction to trying something new, like cake! Plus, what better way to celebrate a first birthday than with CAKE!

When planning a cake smash session, we will talk about if you have a certain theme in mind, or if you want to have a detailed set or something more simple! Getting creative with session themes can guarantee you have a one-of-a-kind session! Even if you choose a theme that I’ve previously photographed, I’ll make sure to change it up so it’s still just yours.

Once we decide on a theme, I'll take care of the cake ordering with my baker, make sure it will match perfectly with our setup, and have everything ready to go. On the day of our session, you’ll arrive at my studio located in Knoxville, Tennessee and we will let baby get used to the studio, get them dressed in their outfit, and let them have all the fun they want! After the cake is all smashed and I say we’re good with the images we’ve taken, we will let your sweet baby splash in a bubble bath for even more adorable images, and it doubles as easy cleanup, too!

For Charlie’s Knoxville cake smash session, we decided on Goodnight Moon, because it’s the first book his mama and daddy read to him as a baby, and still continues to be a favorite in the household.
